Project Runway aired Season 10, Episode 8 on September 30, 2010 on Lifetime TV. The fashion competition is hosted and judged by supermodel Heidi Klum along with judges Nina Garcia and Michael Kors. The guest judge for this episode was Rachel Roy. Tim Gunn mentored the fashion design contestants.
In Season 10, Episode 8 the project was to design a print based upon a childhood memory. Tim Gun told the contestants that they had two days to complete the project, but they were surprised by a visit from their loved ones. The set got teary when Tim Gunn opened the door and family members, mostly moms, came in and gave the designers some love and encouragement. Gunn then announced that they were getting the day off to spend time with family.
When Mondo was talking to the camera he revealed that his design of plus-signs were inspired by his HIV-positive status. His design and fashion were applauded by the judges, inspiring him to reveal the secret that he had been keeping for ten years – that he is HIV positive. Mondo won the competition for the third week in a row.
Valerie Maynen was eliminated from the fashion design competition. The remaining contestants include Gretchen Jones, Michael Costello, Mondo Guerra, Andy South, Christopher Collins and April Johnson.
Project Runway airs new episodes on Thursday nights at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
