One of the smallest and remote island of the world earns fame. It is the Tangier Island, which has been televised on ESPN channel after getting featured in a series of ESPN3 commercials. Recently the commercials featuring the Tangier Island was aired on the national television and it introduced the viewers this remote Chesapeake Bay island. The island only has 507 residents, one school and no one there has cars.
The series of commercials are also available on YouTube and thousands of people have already viewed it. It was also aired during Night Football on ESPN. The commercials series are also available on the Facebook page of ESPN. Richmond-based Martin Agency created this advertising campaign.
The commercials says that it is “the biggest sports town in America per capita” and shows watermen going about their work. It also features the airstrip and the water tower of Tangier Island.
A retired journalist John Pruitt said, “Electronics enable Tangier to be as in touch as anyplace in the world, for good or for bad.” He grew up on the island and is the founder of Tangier Pride Inc., a non-profit organization.
